I can feel the confrontation coming miles away.
It’s the look on your face, the things you don’t say
and those honest eyes so plainly revealing the play of emotion, the circle of feeling.
It seems like such a long, long time since I’ve seen such honest eyes.
Fighting my impulse… afraid that you’re knowing… how much I want you…
It’s more than I’m showing.
It wouldn’t be wise to let you see why. It’s so hard not to touch you, but this isn’t the time.
So much of me responds to those honest eyes.
Honest eyes, I can’t look too deeply
Or you’ll see the truth I’ve been hiding discreetly away.
You’ll see the loneliness there.
Somehow I think it just wouldn’t be fair.
Maybe tomorrow, I’ll be able to tell you
But I’m holding back now so I don’t overwhelm you.
Feelings are fragile, so hard to be healed.
It’s so easy using words as a shield so I don’t end lost in those honest eyes.
Honest eyes I can’t look too deeply
Or you’ll see the truth I’ve been hiding discreetly away.
You’ll see the loneliness there.
Somehow I think it just wouldn’t be fair.
