PURE LOVE
I’ve been over it a million times in my head.
Who did what to whom and why why why.
There’s too many factors for it to make any sense.
And I’m much too anxious to leap to my own defense.
I play the same scenario over and over.
A little bit different each time but the same
feelings keep flowing from some fathomless well.
There’s no end to the anger, the fear and the hell.
Where are you, my Lord, my Love? Where are you?
Why don’t you help me to turn down the noise in my brain?
My thoughts sink me deeper and deeper in pain.
Help me know how to surrender.
Help me know how to remember your Love… your love…. Pure love…
I feel myself the victim of this pattern of thought
I want to make it stop but I feel like I’m caught in web of confusion and anguish and rage.
What’s happened to the me that was the healer and the sage?
Where are you, my God, my Love? Where are you?
Why don’t you help me to turn down the noise in my brain.
My thoughts sink me deeper and deeper in pain.
Help me know how to surrender.
Help me know how to remember your Love… your love…. Pure love…
