I woke up this morning with a head full of rot
there wasn’t even half a space for any decent thought
so I chased myself around a while and I began to see
it’s trouble when you take yourself too seriously
too much thinking is bound to make you crazy
give you stomach trouble, make your vision hazy
won’t somebody tell me how to turn off this brain
the journey would be quiet and I’d get there just the same
so I went out to take a walk, you know.. really get it straight
Nature’s voice is getting lost in this endless debate
there’s choruses of demons… they begin to cheer
choirs of angels but they begin to sneer
chorus
I finally got it figured out, it turned itself around
I just stand and scratch my head as it turns me upside down
so I circled back the other way to get another point of view
with my maturity prevailing and nothing left to do
